Ls1 temperature sensor location

Morning all for my sins I have acquired a Chevy shorty that has had an Ls1 engine swap! However I need to get the temperature gauge working and intend to start with the sensor if I could find it! So Vette lovers what Vette has the Ls1 and anyone know where the temp sensor is located? Many thanks

Cylinder head next to no 1 exhaust. It maybe a three pin one which has two outputs; one for gauge and one for ecu

The ECT sensor is two wires and both go directly to the PCM's blue 80 pin wiring connector
Pin 74, wire is yellow, and
the ground wire is brown, goes to pin 80

Same ECT sensor used on all C5s and many other GM vehicles

Depends what gauge you got the sensor by no1 in head (front right of engine I believe) will be the sensor for ecu this I very doubt will be connected to an aftermarket gauge check on opposite side head at back of engine as this is commonly where the aftermarket gauge picks up from if someone has actually bothered to install one

There are 3 sensors in engine bay for C5s (LS1)

1. Intake air temp, either mounted in airbridge before the throttle body, or from 2001 and newer it was moved in with the Mass airflow sensor
2. Mounted below the right headlight, that is the temp sensor the HVAC uses (along with another on top of dashboard) and also shows that outside temp in the HVAC screen
3. Mounted between cylinders 1 and 3 which is on the left side, this is for the PCM to adjust the tuning as to coolant temps

Think your all missing the point here he is not asking how the corvette c5 temp sender works as this is engine swapped car but where I am guessing an aftermarket gauge sensor might be located in the ls1 engine
