LT1 95 C4 cooling issues

Hi all, so my radiator went pop and in response I replaced the radiator, new thermostat while I was at it and flushed the coolant system then refilled

I also changed the oil and spark plugs just for regular maintenance while I was at it

Driving down the M6 the other day, not going any silly speeds, under 3k rpm, coolant temp held steady (rises to 240s then cools to 220s, normal for an lt1)

But all of a sudden my oil was upwards of 300+.... My engine stalled

After AA recovery and letting it cool, turns over fine but mechanic found out it's lost all spark

So I'm guessing opti needs changing but does anyone know why my oil got so hot when my coolant was within operating range?

Can only take a guess
1. possible not all the air was not purged out of coolant system when radiator and Tstat were replaced and air pockets
would have a higher temp and once those pockets purged out the temps would go normal

2. Maybe a electronics glitch and incorrect oil temp value by the PCM that would then protect engine by going into limp mode

Did you check to see if the water pump seep hole was leaking coolant into the optispark module ?

System was bled using the bled valve and coolant light went out and everything seemed normal

Haven't checked but I'm at 96k miles and I know around the 100k mark the water pump tend to kill the opti on these so I'm guessing that's that

More just concerned about the oil temp and it definitely smelt burnt afterwards

Thank you for the reply as well 👍
