Hi all

Thought I’d drop a message into the forum and move from lurker to a potentially more active member now that we have actually managed to acquire a corvette ;)

We’d planned to buy a vehicle that was in Paris back last year before Covid hit, and missed out in the end on that one. Truth be told that actually worked out pretty well for us and we ended up buying an excellent example a couple of weeks back at the Silverstone Auction. The car has been purchased to remember my wife’s late father who was a big car guy in his day, and my wife follows in his footsteps ;)

Few pics attached courtesy of Alan Kenny the photographer for Silverstone Auctions

Precious little time to actually get out in it yet, plus the fact we have an 11month old son and the car has two seats which makes planning trips a little trickier.

I have a bit of a side line in detailing so currently enjoying going over the car and preparing it for some ceramic coating to help protect it.

Definitely keen to get input on knowledgeable people to help look after the car in terms of servicing, useful upgrades, security and so forth so please do feel free to offer suggestions. We’re West London based. I’ve a few specific things I’m looking to solve for, including something a lot of people will might consider daft but will stick that in another thread ;)

Being a '63 authenticity will mean far more in terms of value and desirablity than even other C2 coupe's. Presumably there is detailed history with the car and it all matching numbers? - you'll probably want to consider joining up with the UK's NCRS chapter?

Nice car. I've often wondered what the view was like through the rear (split) window.....

....not great - but who cares?;)

Fantastic car. Congratulations. James Vette - if you suggest deleting the split in the screen to make a '64, you will be banned........😉

Yes very detailed history and seems to have done the rounds with NCRS previously. Not a bad shout to get in touch with them about it
