It's been out for a while, but I can't remember seeing one "on the road"? Was passing Group 1 Ford in Guildford today, so called in and had a look at one. Any discounts off list I asked the salesman sitting next to it? No he said. Got home and looked on Autotrader and there is the very car advertised with £3K off list.

Cae salesmen and estate agents........the're almost interchangeable. I recall the time my missus chose to buy an inexpensive new daily driver - a Ford Ka when they were first released. She was happy to pay cash - we went to the main Ford dealer (back in the day) and I stood behind as she asked a a couple of staff (presumably the manager and a salesman for information about the Ka and its variants. That didn't go well. One of the two men chose to attempt to correct her on the pronounciation of the work Ka. She (as indeed would I) called it a "Kay A". The male chose to cirrect her, saying "Its a Kah madam" with the emphasis on a 'soft "ah". Ready to spend £5000 my wife was instantly offended by the lesson in grammar, told them to "stick it", turned on her heels and walked out. Guess the two men didn't realise the effect their attitude would have - she subsequently bought an MGF.....but thats a different story.
Some sales people are ignorant and stupid. We walked in to the dealer in scruffy clothes.......guarantee had we have been in smart clothing we'd have been fauned over. And yes I've had that response of zero discount from sales staff at the showroom only to see discount on-line at the same location.

Haven't seen one on the road yet, though they are in the showrooms. The new S650 is basically a facelifted previous generation S550. To me it's one of those cars - like the E Type - where they got the styling right the first time...

S550 on the left, S650 on the right.
I still prefer the original styling, but I have to admit to being biased - the S550 is mine - what do you think?

I didn't realise it was a facelift job, thought it was a new car? A 446 bhp GT auto coupe with the forged wheels, mag ride and red calipers lists at £61,675. Must admit I was quite impressed,
OK I'm being a bit harsh in saying it's just a facelift. Perhaps it's a facelift in the same way that The C3 Vette was a facelifted C2. A lot of what's under the restyled body is largely unchanged. The 5 litre 'Coyote' motor is the same as in the last of the S550 generation, with the same power in spite of Ford initially saying it would have more. Manual versions still have a six-speed transmission while the Auto now has 10 speeds as opposed to the six in mine ( I thought six was pretty generous! ). Certainly the interior is quite different with most of the controls now dumped on the touchscreen. The S550 changed the game by chucking out the prehistoric beam rear axle and giving the 'Stang a proper modern suspension at last and the S650 running gear is largely unchanged, so I'm imagining the dynamics of the two cars are pretty similar.
