Oil query.

Hi all , I want to add a little drop of oil to my 72 359. . I have new full aynthetic hi zinc to oil change with . But hoping some can advise what to top up with that i can buy say at halfords that will have zinc . I think it has a brad penn full synthetic in it at present. It came from the states with this in it. Dont want to do a full oul change yet as motor and/ or box coming out in near future. . TiA

You know you can always rely on me to come up with answer you dont want...
Do it matter what the zinc content is of oil you use for a short term top up?.. its going to be 1 or 2% (guess) of the total oil in there and wont make any worthwhile difference.

Personally I buy based on colour. Green is my current favourite.

Thanks all , I didnt think of how little percentage it would alter things. Just as sell top up with a little bit of the new stuff as it will all be full synthetic

I top mine up throughout the year with a 20w50 cheapy oil. Then at oil and filter change put the proper stuff in. I don't use the car that much, or lose that much oil, that I don't think it'll mind.
