Witnesses claim the driver of a C7 Corvette climbed out and hid beer cans after crashing his car Friday in Oregon.
Lincoln City police say 48-year-old Edrick Darell Dixon of Lincoln City was allegedly speeding excessively in a 30-mph zone when he had to swerve to miss a turning vehicle and then struck a median and a “large rock” in the median.
The car then went up on two wheels and hit an embankment at Siletz Bay Park and into the side of a building
Fortunately, none of the several bystanders in the area were struck by the out-of-control Corvette, police say.
However, after the crash, witnesses claim that Dixon exited the Corvette, hid beer cans, and got back in the car before first responders arrived.
After being taken to the hospital to be checked out, Dixon allegedly acted intoxicated there and threatened officers and hospital personnel.
He’s been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree criminal mischief.
By the way, police say they found a beer can under the car.
