Rear brake fun and games

Went out this afternoon for a bit of run in the C5 and not long after leaving home I could here something coming from the rear of the car. Seemed to be brake related but couldn't see anything obvious when I stopped to look.

Anyway took the wheel off on the driver's side as it seemed to be coming from that area and took the caliper off. This is what I found a broken piece of pad and the remains cracked.

I thought I'd take the disc off to check the parking brake drum while I was there but the disc wouldn't come off. It's seems to be taking the drum off with the disc? I watched a YouTube video first and made sure not to have the handbrake on. Any advice?

Obviously the brake pads need replacing.

Give it a tap around the drum with a soft mallet. This should free it up enough to get the disc off. If it still won't come off you may have to use a bit of force to pull it off. The problem with the drum is that you can't get to the adjuster without taking the drum off.

I've been reading up on it. Seems more common than I thought. Might be a lip inside the disk. I'll try again tomorrow and tap the drum and also use a long socket and hit round the bolts.
Tried using a small hammer and a block of wood on the back of the disk earlier and one side seemed to be free but the other not so.

Have you checked the studs to see if there is not a couple of flat metal like nuts that hold the rotor on ?
Or use some cleaner around studs next to rotor, as may due to heat causing rotor stuck to the studs or the hub ?
