Rear lights with reverse?

I’ve currently got a C3 which I’m trying to sort out the rear lights.
It currently has the outer lights that have side lights with brake lights combined which is okay, where my issue is, is that the inner lights only have a turn signal utilising the reverse lenses with amber bulbs.
I’m trying to find a way to have turn signals “and” reverse lights??
The only way I can see this being possible is to have Red outer turn signals and inner white reversing light?
Has anyone had any experience as I’m trying to find the build holders and bulbs to make it work.
Pictures are of the inner lights 👍IMG_9027.pngIMG_9026.png

Hi brad , whatyear is yr vette? Has someone used the reverse light as indicators? It may have come with uS lights where the rear lights are dual purpose and serve as indicators as well. You can put it back to that as you have no mot lighting issues due to age of the car if over 40 years old . I think. 👍

You need to get some white and amber switchback leds and two filament sockets and use these in the reversing light.

Mad4slalom, It’s a 1978…someone has changed them to single build holders…

Johng, I was gonna just have dual filament bulbs so outer red ring flashes for indicator and inner clear for white reverse

I don't see how you could do that, the bulb holder is in the middle of the lamp, so a normal dual filament bulb would give you white reversing lights and white indicators.

Depending on what type of flasher unit (and what leds you've ordered) you might also need some some resistors to put in parallel with the leds.

Prob just need an adjustable indicator relay you can adjust them to bring the flash back in line with what variation of bulbs your using

The reversing light has 2 green lines on the Lh and one on the Rh, power for the indicator comes from the outer light supply for the indicator if I remember correctly the 2 pin holder does not fit in the 1 pin holder so inner and outer are not interchangeable.

If you use diodes rated to handle an appropriate level of current you can arrange for the existing indicators to illuminate as reversing lights. i.e. connect the same bulb filament to both circuits at the same time, each via a diode. The result will be,

Indicator only - flashing amber
Reversing only - solid amber
Indicating while reversing - solid amber
