RHD OR LHD

Given the £5k additional fee per year required to tax a new UK spec' C8.......it surely must make a 'used' LHD USA higher spec' personal import a serious consideration?

More thinking about cars already in the UK , how much less should a US car be than a UK RHD be ! Or not ? Thinking about a C8 but cant justify spending 100K on a new one. .

Be very careful about US imports. I don't know if it is still true, but I was told by Ian Allan when the first ones arrived (I interviewed them for an article I wrote for Vette News about the C8 in the UK) that they could not service non-GM imports. I think part of this was GM rules and part was access to the car's electronics. One of the net results was no warranty work/GM support. As I say, this might no longer apply but I would check very carefully before buying a non-UK car. If you do get a UK car and you want to increase the power/torque, you can get it re-mapped but at only one place in the UK. Contact Wortec in Chichester - I can thoroughly recommend them. Good hunting!
