Hi All,
Wondering what folk do to stop passengers scuffing your nice shiny sill plates with their shoes ?. I have been known to masking tape up the vunerable 12 inches at the front.
Anyone tried the anti scuff protection film snd if so, where did you get yours ? 👍

I ask men to remove their shoes - women, yes them too (but leave it optional regarding other garments)

My wife gets grumpy when she sees me giving her a visual inspection checking for studded jeans pockets and thick clumpy boots 😵‍💫 🤣

I have a worse problem with my FTO. I don't understand HOW they do it, but pretty much every person that gets in it (either side) manages to kick off the illuminated shiny sill protector plate on it. They must be dragging their feet when they get in and drag it all over the sill, and thus the protector plate. I have no problems whatsoever. Lazy people considering you don't have to lift your foot that high as the FTO's very low to the ground.

The po in the us sent it over with the pos original scuffed abd scratched plates which let the car down, one of the first things I changed. I had seen a clear plastic film with low tack or even no tack that stays in place on its own. 👍

Paint protection Film on mine. Helitape or others may be cheaper and do the same job.

Try crystal clear gorilla tape. Cheap enough to replace regularly and quite robust.

Not used it for that purpose myself, nor would I. If I ever found myself taping over a sill plate to keep it as new, I would sell the car and buy something I could use as it was meant to be used.

I got it done by a local firm. As it was going onto a part with compound curves I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it myself and didn't want to risk damaging the thin silver coating.
