Technical Service Bulletin from General Motors this week and it targets both 2024 & 2025 model year C8 Corvettes in which water leaks into the cabin from the doors
Check your interiors to see if there are any water leaks among the bottom edge and into the carpet.
The fix is still pretty involved.
The part at issue is called the Front Side Door Water Deflector, and Corvettes have one for each of the side doors.
Water flowing down the windows and into the doors is usually diverted, but not with these faulty deflectors, so water has been getting into the carpet with some reports of mold, mildew, and discoloration due to the water leak.
GM will fix this issue under warranty for those 2024 and 2025 Corvette owners, and it starts with service techs removing the door panels and then testing the water deflectors by hitting the door with a hose for two or three minutes. If there is water in the cabin, you know you have a leak!
Depending on the damage from the water leaks, the techs will also determine if the carpet needs to be replaced or not.
Time to inspect the Left Hand and Right Hand Front Side Door Water Deflectors takes 0.9 labor hours, while the inspection and replacement procedure totals 1.1 labor hours. If any of the carpet needs to be changed, that will add a little over a labor hour for each side.
