Hi
I'm not longer able to attend track day at North Weald on 20th August. 😢.
My Corvette has the fuel pump rod stuck ( tried everything 😞) and now going to replace with an electric fuel pump, if I can get this one out. If not the front part of engine needs to come off.
And Pat's Biscayne has gear box issues plus being involved in an accident.
Was so looking forward to taking our car's around the track. To actually get my Corvette out this year is looking grim.
If interested let me know and I'll sort the details out.
Thank you Blondie

Out of interest, why do you need to get the fuel pump rod out? The normal problem with those rods is stopping them from actually falling out when the fuel pump is off.

Hiya Forest. The fuel was not being pumped round when starting and I decided to replace the fuel pump and filter. When I tried to put the new one on ( after doing the normal longer screw in the side to stop it falling out) I couldn't get it to join properly. So I tried to move the rod and it's jammed solid. It won't move at all. Hand wrenched the engine to see if it would move back up the shaft but it won't. Going out today to get some needle nosed pliers. To see if I can get a hold of it but I think it may be bent in the shaft. Not good news as so near to getting it out.

So sorry to hear of the problems you are both having, Barb. I do hope you are able to sort them soon. You will be missed at North Weald! Let us hope that we get a chance to go next year - we all thought this would be the last year, but I understand there is a chance it will run again for at least part of next year. Fingers crossed all round!

[Might be worth mentioning the "tickets" on the Club FB page.....]

That's a shame you can't make it - I was looking forward to hearing about how a big block C3 got on around the circuit.

I would normally jump at the chance of the tickets, but sadly I'm rather busy around that time, hence why I didn't book it originally. Double shame because the FTO is now all done up and looking pretty after the respray.

Hopefully if they do an event next year we can make it. My corvette is definitely fighting me at the moment. All the interior completed and seats back in - I made the assumption out loud that I would get it out this week..... I jinxed it 😆. Still trying to pull the fuel rod out - I'm hoping it will give up the fight so I can get on the road without having to take the front part of engine off.
To say I'm down is an understatement, these Corvette's get under your skin and into your brain 😆.
Looking forward to seeing your FTO.

They sure do! I'd love to bring my 1968 to a track session, but it'd more than double my fuel bill coming from the south west. Hence FTO - it was in the Corvette mag last year when I wrote an article about the Track Session with Drive Limits. It looks roughly the same now as it did in the photos - because the photos are good at hiding the horrible issues with the paint :ROFLMAO:
