Very easy to Damage on these Corvette Rims

One of the aspects of the new 2023 Corvette Z06 is its very costly, lighter carbon fiber wheels. Roughly 40 lbs of unsprung weight are saved with the carbon fiber wheels, and Chevy engineers have made the steering a bit more responsive due to the lighter wheels.

But the downside to having carbon fiber wheels on the car is the real possibility of damaging them from a pothole, curb, rock chips or another road hazard.
The downside to damaged carbon fiber is that there really is no fixing that.
So for those of you thinking seriously about carbon fiber wheels costing thousands of dollars for your Corvette, keep that in mind.

Z06 pricing not out yet,
If ordering the Z07 package, those CF rims come with
If ordering as an option, guesses are $1,000 to $2,000 each

Imagine some putz who changes engine oil is told to replace the tires you want replaced with
Width of rims alone increase chance of install damage and then add the oil changer dude caring less how he does the tire swaps

The only fix would be just painting over them, so why buy them in the first place ?

Wazers already crying and saying the only time they would have those installed is for car shows
and all other times for road is cheaper rims installed

Oh, and tires are looking to be about $900 each, and they will not be easy to find in stock and few other tires makers
selling those tire sizes
