Corvettes at Carlisle Car Lift COLLAPSED WITH A C8 Crashing Down

Happened at Corvettes at Carlisle last week.
Apparently, at one of the vendors claiming performance mods for C8s installer tents, a four-post lift had a cable failure, and it buckled with a Rapid Blue C8 Corvette stuck on it.
The solution was to call in a flat-bed wrecker, who positioned the rollback carefully to allow the Corvette to be backed off of the lift and onto the wrecker.

4 post lift Installed on a concrete pad sitting on top of grass with the broken cable being the culprit, and the video shows not bolted down which may have added to the instability

Unfortunately this type of 4 post vehicle lift is becoming more common as they are widely available, light weight and cheap.
They are designated as "parking lifts" under the UK Machinery Directive and as such have no safety devices to prevent a vehicle falling in the event of a failure.
