I've been adjusting my '71 wiper door and have removed the vacuum actuator. This is connected to the operating linkage with a long hex nut threaded RH at one end and LH at the other. I removed this with the actuator and now need to replace it. Willcox give this useful diagram...
...giving the correct adjustment for my '71 car. What I need to know is how to replace the actuator before making this adjustment. Do I engage both ends of the hex nut simultaneously with the linkage and the actuator as shown below....
....before rotating it to achieve this adjustment, or should the nut be wound onto the linkage or actuator first and if so, to what extent?
