Well it is now 6pm on the14th May - and on the 16th I collect the car
I bought a rather tired and tatty 2 owner California car- it is a C3 of course.
Imported by a chap who ran it for some years on a small budget, and it showed
I decided to restore and improve with current technology where possible, then I got carried away and went crazy ape bonkers!
That was 2 years ago- and now the truth is the only mechanical items on the car that were there when it was made are the motors for the windows and the wipers
Everything else is 2023/2023 modern technology
Blueprint 383 Stroker - 500 BHP and more importantly 500ft lbs. of torque at only 1600 revs
High load torque converter - modified 3 speed automatic transmission from Tremec
Wildwood 6 pot and 4 pot brakes- larger discs- 17inch Torque Thrust wheels( I am sure the wheels ate named after a 19070s porn star)
New exhaust headers- hand made and then coated twice with ceramic paint- evidently it reduces the heat output from the headers into the engine bay by 38%
Too many more alterations to bore you with
New interior from Corvette Kingdom- Scott gives a great service and at a very reasonable price too
Overall really excited- taken for a test drive last week when they were checking the suspension ( carbon fibre from the USA- 18 moths delivery time but I am told worth the wait)
The car flew- I used to have a genuine 427 Cobra ( side oiler, top loader etc), but the pick up from 30 to 80 last week was astonishing
Biggest issue I suspect will be keeping my license- we shall see

I will take photos later this week and then post them- it is looking rather nice I must be honest
Have driven 200 miles- just running in the engine really
Not allowed to go above 3000 revs- but 70 is 2200 so I am not exactly prejudiced by running it in!
Already receiving positive comments from the public- so different from driving Ferraris or 911s where I invariably received adverse comments.
The noise of the V8 is of course well known to club members- it ought be available on the NHS to cheer up people
I will log on to work tomorrow at 6am- so I can be free by 11 to go for another drive
C3s are intoxicating
