With the Corvette Nationals behind us now it's time to focus on Corvettes at the Lakes. Gliptone are again the main sponsor and will be at the event with detailing products and tips on how to keep your Corvette in tip top condition.

Cath who planned the amazing cruise last year through the glorious Lake District scenery is on the case again and has another brilliant trip planned for Saturday.

The usual range of trophies are on offer for all generations, best show and shine and Corvette of the day.

Thankfully there are no formalities to include like the AGM and Gala dinner so the event is a very relaxed affair and a good chance to catch up with friends before the season close.

The dinner in TJ's restaurant is excellent and can be chosen on the night rather than pre-ordered like Sywell.

Hope to see lots of members there so watch out for updates between now and the event.

We’re going to repeat the Lakes cruise that we did to Alston last year and why not, the scenery and roads in the Lake District were as good as it gets.

So, this is on Saturday with a set off time of 11:30am onto the A686 for the 25-mile journey which takes about 45 minutes. We’ll use the same free car park as last year and stop for refreshments for an hour before heading back the same way. Half way is the Hartside viewing point where there’s usually a refreshment truck selling snacks, coffee and soft drinks where we’ll stop for photo opportunities.

Its a 5 and a half hour drive away for me, so sadly I won't be going. As much as I love my Corvette, I don't think I'd enjoy being in it that long each way. That and I have other stuff going on at the moment, so can't be away from home much.

Hope you all have fun and the weather is good for you :)

Sadly we won't manage to attend this year either, even though it's our "local" event. (Too much foreign travel due to a family bereavement). Fingers crossed the weather is good and you all have a fab time. Hopefully get to a CCUK event in 2025!

My C5 is at Parts USA right as we speak, I'm hoping to have the car back tomorrow afternoon....... I've been purposely ignoring the whole Lakes event incase I couldn't make it 🙈 but IF by the total off chance that I can? where and what do I need to be able to attend???
Hoping to finally meet more faces and see all your cars, plus hoping you will like mine 😅

Hi Krusty.

We've met (I badgered you into joining the club!) but you'll meet plenty of others so do try and make it. Bunch of us going tomorrow are meeting at Charnock Richard services M6 north at 11:30. If you're going Saturday or Sunday I'll email the rest of the group to see if anyone want's to meet up and travel together so check your emails.

Cheers,

Stuart

Cheers Stuart, yes I remember haha. Yourself at Oulton Park and one American man and his daughter that I met last June right outside the Nurburgring (both travelling in a C4 they'd shipped over, but not sure if they're in this club? although he did mention it) are the only Corvette owners I've had the pleasure of meeting so far. So I'm really looking forward to meeting a lot more of you this weekend.
The weather forecast is looking very favourable also... I just hope my car is good to go. I won't be able to go until Saturday but I would really like to be there for Sunday and see what cars are awarded trophies. I bet there'll be some stunners showing up.
Will be keeping an eye on my emails

Thanks again

I believe we have a restored C3 rolling chassis attending - a '69 with side pipes no less so anyone doing work on a C3 will get the chance to see one unfrocked. We had one in 2022 that got a lot of attention.
