Think about a 'trip' from here in Greater London in to the West End......in the 'wrong' car. By 'wrong' I mean a typical non-compliant higher CO2 'run around.£6 a gallon ??? What a shame ! You US types have been spoilt for donkies years . I picked up a parking violation ticket in Salem a few years back and went to City Hall to pay the fine . The very helpful girl on the desk said she would speak to her boss about getting it cancelled as we were Brits on holiday . I said "forget it thanks " , it costs more than the penalty fine to park for 4 hours in my home town ! She was gob smacked and then even more so when I told her how much a gallon of gas cost over here . You lived in another world
Rip off 1. Congestion charge at £15.00 -
Rip off 2. ULEZ charge at £12.50.
Rip off 3. Fuel at, say £15.00.
Rip off 4. Want to park somewhere 'on-street' in Central London? that could be anything up to £10.00 or more for an hour (and you'll probably be limited to 2 hours maximum).
Rip off 5. Want to park off-street in a multi-story NCP type car park for several hours? that could be similar cost per hour to on-street parking (allow £30+) -
Feeling hungry? better budget for that, say £30 to £200 per head depending on whether its McDonalds or somewhere 5 star
Its getting a little late now (11.30 pm) as you sip your after dinner drinks - better move your asses as the £12.50 ULEZ charge you paid earlier is only valid for 24 hours.........
Rip off 6. You've got 30 minutes to get the hell of the central area or have to pay a further £12.50........
EDIT - that 'central' area becomes anywhere within the A 406 North and South Circular roads as from October.......
