1970’s ? Custom C2

Here’s one I came across on eBay.com.
It’s a so called “barn find” god only knows how many barns there are in the USA.
It’s a 1965 Sting Ray convertible with various modifications popular in the late 60’s but mainly during the 70’s.
It looks typical of the era including the “brown/gold” paint complete with custom painted side graphics . Complete with a hard top, and very period wheels.

Will it be restored to original, looks like a LOT of work to go that route unless your a body man. Possible basis for a restomod as they are called nowadays.

It’s now north of $30k, so a number of people like it.

A blast from the past. Put on the medallion, open your shirt up ( gentleman only) flares and platforms on.93B9B600-6AD4-4C2A-8CAD-A7AAFEB701AA.jpegC6C48CA0-F435-404B-8700-72F6D2A4C834.jpeg

I must admit I still have my medallions.
A 1oz ingot, and a krugerrand.
with the price of gold nowadays compared to 1979/80, I’m glad I did. Not forgetting the old sovereign rings and ID bracelet

It’s funny how the Color brown defines the 1970’s

The craze with mid year corvettes during the custom scene seemed to do away with the turn round/over headlights for static units placed into the grill. Always thought this strange as the turn over headlights I thought were one of its best features and looked so modern. Even during the 1970’s

I think I’ve still got my brown velvet jacket tucked away somewhere. 🙁
not that I could ever fit into it now.

I can remember helping Andy Kay ( A K windscreens) fit a brown shag pile carpet into his custom van. Great old days.

I got wed in a light biege three piece suite with wiiiiiide flairs and brown platform shoes . John Travolta eat your heart out !
When my dad got married again in 1977, I wore the same three piece suite. My platform boots had 6inch heels and were brown/beige. I thought I looked the business.
