Any advice and recommendations for a potential 700r4 auto box rebuild (1987 L98)? And typical cost? Who offers this service and where are they? Thanks!

Try Corvette Kingdom, Scott did the conversion for my C3 way back, yes I know your car's a C4 but he knows the 700 tranny inside out

Thanks very much Mick. I did see CK come up in Google’s search results but figured they’d only be interested in installing 700r4 in the c3. Ill give them a ring in the morning. Thanks for the tip.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted, just a thought though, where are you? Another good one if you in the Dorset area, is ABM Automotive, I had a 720 rebuild done there, Adi is the guys name, here's his website, he's really into C4s, even built a diesel one, Dervette! Home Page - ABM Automotive

Yes did try Adrian last night. Very very helpful guy. Helped me with a bunch of questions and certainly sounded like he knew everything about this gearbox. But he’s very far away. I’m in north wales near the Wirral/Chester.

Hi,

a bit late now, if you are still in need, I had mine rebuilt by a specialist based in the West Midlands, Transmission Technology, very knowledgable and very reasonably priced as well.

Been running for nearly 5 years now.

Thanks Barry, didn't know that, he serviced my gearbox last year but not had any contact with him since, real shame if he is seriously ill, a nice guy and very knowledgeable.
