Am I correct this event and location is Blake Hall Essex, Damn Yankees American Car Club.

I think it is fair to say the photos of XBC 85 are the same car, the car was for sale at Santa Pod and the States Plates are the same.

A few frames back the 64 Coupe is very nice, three C2s in that shot, am I correct in thinking that there are less C2s in the UK now than there were in the 80s?

That's an interesting theory? With the low £ against the Euro over the last years, wouldn't have been surprised if the Europeans had "nicked" some UK cars. Are these C2's, currently for sale in Germany, any more expensive than equivalent UK cars?

2001 USA a bit of a road trip, the Corvette photos were taken in Scottsdale Arizona.

Hi Chevrolet (y) if you are talking about Steve Palmer’s 64 CUP it was a very nice 64 Corvette, when Steve was the club chairman he tried to wangle the membership number 64 can’t remember if he did it. :)

Just before I left the UK my 1980 Corvette alternator light came so while in Scottsdale I purchased a replacement alternator, when I came to fit the alternator I found my drive belt had broken and had fallen off.

Hi kentvette.

I did not put the Ace Café year 2004 in my original post 27/3/20 because I did not really want to know the answer if I was wrong, but that C6 just looked wrong and I only registered my C5 at the beginning of April so I doubt I would have gone that early to the Ace Café.

I was almost certain if I put 2004 in my original post someone on this site would know the correct year and tell me, being a little eccentric I don’t like mistakes I would have to move both Ace Café year photos to the correct album and re index the albums which could take a long time but it just bugged me.

I did in fact unbeknown to me have the answer to my own question, moving my Corvette magazines to find Keepin Track of Vettes I came across 4 Vette News magazine and what are the odds that one of them would have the answer.

In the autumn 2005 issue there is an article about the Ace Café and you can see in the photo the rear of T111MON C6 and V7TTE C5 and I have the front view so it is 2005, I had to reorganise my albums and still got it wrong on my first attempt.

Correct years now edited in posts.

(Hi kentvette maybe you or someone else can help me out, especially the owner of a C6 re The Ace Cafe, this has really been bugging me, especially the night I could not sleep and remembered Barry Perman’s white Greenwood Daytona.

My car photo albums are not really in year order well not back then anyway.

The Ace Café photos do not come from my car photo albums they come from my regular photo albums because my daughter Vicki is in them.

Now for the problem, you mentioned the Ace Café years 2003/4, well my regular photo albums should be in year order, the year Vicki and my Vette were at the Ace Café I have down as 2004, and The Ace Café no Vette just a beer year down as 2005 (Daytona I won’t ask you to spot the possible mistake answer above and below) when Vicki drives back into the Ace Café you can see the C6 in the back ground, a better photo below.

I checked the registration and it could not be found, but even the answer could be inconclusive as the DVLA don’t always get the year correct.)

(Funchi, unfortunately, I gave all my old Vette News magazines away last year. Most went up to Pete Sansbury, in Normandy. I think they went back to at least 2003, so had all the Ace Cafe reports in them! But I'll see what photos I have of my last trip there. Been a busy "gardening day" here today!)

The characters on the front cover of Vette News are Dieter Orton, previous CCCUK Chairman and Lifetime Member, with Nige Dobbie (Corvette Racing author) driving.
T111MON belonged to Timon Pratt and was one of the very first imported C6s into the UK. The yellow C5 belonged to Pete Sansbury. Both Timon and Pete are ex Editors of Vette News. Timon moved to the USA and Pete currently lives in France and is CCCUK International Rep.
