Yes, only for the brave. Unless of course you want a perfect example once finished, give it to someone like Corvette Kingdom get it restored and probably an eye watering bill at the end, but hey if that’s what you want go for it.
Unfortunately restoration costs have skyrocketed nowadays and corvette specific parts are some of the most expensive about. Makes restoration a big ??? Now.

You may remember this C3 from a couple of years ago. After buying the car - in running condition from a dealer - the guy spent £68K with Corvette Kingdom and ended up with a nice paint job but also with a car non-original in several respects.
Bearing in mind the one year only quirks of the '68, I can imagine a full restoration to original condition on this 'vert done by a professional could well cost around £100k.
Hagerty values a Concours '68 'vert in the UK at £56k. This car really only makes sense as a DIY project and even then it's unlikely to make its owner any money.

It's an odd market out there.......(but perhaps it's always been that way).
We see sellers asking seemingly extraordinary figures for very much non original and butchered vehicles (yet often advertised as being original with perhaps 'cooking' lopo crate engines) and then buyers seemingly expecting to source a car that is perhaps very original (if not exactly concours) at silly low money but neither not prepared to do any work on the vehicle themselves or perhaps unable to afford employing someone else to do it.

People expectations vary so much for their hard earned money. Certainly restoration costs from professional restorers can run away with themselves, making the finished car not worth the sum of its parts.
