Recommended oil grades:
Above 20°F: SAE 20W-20, SAE 10W-30, 10W-40
20W-40, 20W-50
0°F to 60°F: SAE 10W, 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40
Below 20°F: SAE 5W-20, 5W-30
Usually you can't go wrong with the 10 W 30, most name brand oils will be good.Thank you Norm
Hi Stephen, following one of your previous posts recommending Millers, I followed your lead. So the two '78 owners I referred to was You & I !Linda
I'm a big fan of Millers Classic 20/50 Mineral oil. As Ross says, its a good idea to stay with mineral, that's what they had from new and, based on my discussions with one of Mobil's top men, it's not a great idea to go to a synthetic oil in an old engine.
