C3 Race Car Build

Pretty good, found a couple of setup issues the day before and it’s pretty much on the money now. I always do everything myself but end of 2019, I got a pro to setup the suspension and it was bollocks. Anti roll bar was on the cock, corner weights were out and too much toe in at the rear. Moral here is do it yourself.

Check this out for corner weights

There was a bloke with an AM Vulcan there, they even had their own refrigerated drinks cabinet :ROFLMAO:

Unfortunately there are a few pros out there that are not up to the task , how do they get away with it ?? The Torro Rosso March F2 that I share a roof with had two engine rebuilds in quick succession by a `well respected` race car specialist and was a pile of pants both times !!!
The AM guys were just plain showing off with a drinks cooler as well as a Vulcan ! Some people are never satisfied !

What spring have you gone for?
I‘ll be interested to see how you get on with those mirrors. I find the view from the California style mirrors is next to useless for road driving so you might find them inadequate for racing. You get a great view of the wheel arch!

I can’t judge the width when reversing as the flared arches hide stuff, will see about driving. A panoramic rear view mirror works well for racing though, more useful than wing mirrors.

Have you got the same mirrors?

Yes I have the California or “Sports“ type. They look good but just sit too low on the car relative the rear hips. On race cars you often see a bracket under these mirrors to raise them up.

Front end now lowered.

Is your intent to keeping the front end lower than the rear, and if so considered the front/rear weight ratio and where the center of gravity will be when on a racetrack ?
Intend to do final corner weight height adjustments to get the balance needed for track, and considering if you like under/push or over/loose on track ?

My older Corvettes I would rid the stock springs and go with coil overs and then get the weight shifted to center of mass as I could
and then change the coil rte of springs depending on type of race I was doing
I also went with custom sway bars and adjustable end links.

Here is my project for my 1994 C4 ZR-1 back in later 1990s

I will probably run about 1/4-1/2” inch of rake front to back. I’ve not adjusted the rear yet. Will get it about right and do the geometry and then put some miles on it before doing it properly with corner weights. Both front and rear sway bars are bigger than standard. The regulations don’t allow coil overs, but I do have some custom shocks.
