Remember her twins ?
Angelyne – the buxom blonde from LA – made herself famous on her own in the 1980s, simply by putting up huge billboards with her sexy photo around the city.
Four decades later, she continues to tantalize the public, and her rise to fame is now being documented in a semi-fictionalized series called “Angelyne” that debuts on Thursday, May 19 on Peacock. (Earlier, in 1995, at a time when she had up more than 200 billboards around Los Angeles, she was also the subject of a black-and-white documentary by Robinson Devor.)
Angelyne is famous in Corvette circles, of course, because she has been frequently seen in a series of pink Corvettes, with generations ranging from the C3 to the C7. No word on whether the real Angelyne, who’s turning 72 in October, will be adding a C8 to that list in the coming years.
Regardless, Rossum points out that the new series, not surprisingly, will put an emphasis on “fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne.”
