When I went last year we were told to turn off all traction controls. That makes it really interesting 🤣🤣
Yep - best to turn it all off otherwise you are not sure what is you and what is the car! As Team ZR1 says, the CDM turns off traction control but keeps the Active Handling on. You might want to try it just to feel what it can do. On the road, I leave everything on. Here, I turn it off and, yes, it does get interesting!!

I'll be there on Tuesday (tomorrow 😲 ) in the FTO, travelling up tonight and staying at a cheapy hotel. Also coming with a mate of mine in a Skoda VRS. So we're likely to be most of the front wheel drive club there tomorrow :ROFLMAO: .

Last time I had my tyres on normal pressure as it was my first time. Now I know a bit more (allegedly), and seeing that chart above, I should probably be lowering my front tyre pressure a tad as I was getting lots of understeer, especially on "high speed bend".
Might be better to raise the rears? Look forward to seeing you Kieran

Once controllers are in comp mode, you can press once the reset button on DIC which allows then seeing what you want on the DC screen
Watch dash lights to know what mode you're in
When you allow the controllers to control the car, it can trip ABS, reduce torque and timing so killing off performance

I prefer using my feet to control how the car handles rather than the controllers

When I tune the PCM and for racing reasons I can reduce what the controllers so to torque or timing

I hope people got back home safe, it was pretty much torrential rain for most of my journey. And I must have looked like a madman rinsing down my chevy lawnmower in said torrential rain at the local jetwash near my house

A fun day though, as always, and Andy gets the "more than a dab of oppo" award this time around...

Fantastic day out and I am so glad that I wasn't the only one who mowed the grass 😂

Cheers Manish, award gratefully accepted!
In those wet conditions I found my car virtually impossible to drive at pace. I couldn’t get the throttle open and then when cornering it felt like one of those skid pan cars where the dolly wheels go down half way through the corner. Still great fun though.
Many thanks for letting me have a drive in your C8 spaceship, I thoroughly enjoyed that experience👍.

I think you were working harder than anyone, Andy - it looked like a real handful. You did get Save of the Day, though for controlling that tank slapper with four changes of direction! My thanks also to Manish for the drive - much appreciated. It was a close run thing between you and Steve for the Fastest Lawnmower in the UK Award...... Thanks everyone for coming along and for your company - another great day at North Weald!!

And thank you for the drive in your car - that was a memorable experience. I can see the appeal!

I'm a little late to the post - didn't get back until late yesterday. Rain all the way home, and M25 rush hour + rain was not fun. Still, Shawn and I heading back West and the rain let off once close to home. My wife tells me it'd been sunny and warm all day at home too. :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for a fab day out, really enjoyed it. Thanks to you all for taking me out in your cars. I found it interesting jumping from a C3, into a C4, then a C5. You can see the connection between the generations of Corvette and also how they changed.

Shawn also really enjoyed his day out too, and he was chuffed and surprised that he did so well.

Thanks also for the entertainment of spinning all the RWD cars. I know you did it deliberately ( :ROFLMAO: ) which inspired me to have a go at spinning my FWD car. :ROFLMAO: The lawns there have never looked so good.

Thanks for coming all that way Kieran. Good to see you and meet Shawn. You get the Long Distance Award again! I bet you never thought you could spin a FWD car! Good show!
