Although my Firenza wasn't a 'Droopsnoot' it was still an ohc 2.3 litre 4 banger and in the early 70's was more than competitive on the street against all the Cortina's and Capri's.....whilst the engine was unburstable little else on the car stood up to the power with gearbox, rear axle, trailing arms all failing on a 25k mile, 2 year old car. Got rid of it. Good job really as I avidly followed the tuning work and performance logic of Bill Blydenstein on the Vauxhall OHC engines and would have seriously committed myself to big valve head and quad Dellorto's etc much like Gerry Marshalls car.......but fortunately cubic inches (and as many as I could get) became the alternative attraction and V8 motivated Yanks then followed.
