It’s me again ( showing my ignorance) whilst acting on info already given by you lads I have noticed there’s no ignition on warning light, and I can’t even find it mentioned in the hand
book.I drove it very little before starting resto and I can’t remember ever seeing it,though I wasn’t looking for it (ignorance again I know)

Read what I posted in your seat belt thread

Check that buzzer module, relay in engine bay and wiring shown in my posting to above thread

Thanks jr,perhaps I’m confusing every one I was trying to find an ignition warning light as in other cars and not being that familiar with my car (haven’t had it going much)wasn’t even sure if there is one in the physical sense if so where would it be
sorry about the confusion

Sorry mate I’m not making myself clear on this,I was referring to the light that comes on when you turn the key on other cars it’s normally on the dash somewhere just to tell you the ignition is on prior to actually turning the engine over. The more I think of it the more I think I’m just asking a dumb question of you lads that know tons more than me.

On my 78 there is the alternator warning light that comes when you turn on the ignition and then goes out once the engine is running and producing electrical power, no other ignition warning light though.

I spoke to Gavin and he explained that on a 76 there is no generator light (ignition on light)on the right is = door ajar and head lamps, and on the left is= fasten safety belts.
a strange anomaly maybe on 76s only! Any way thank you guys for all your help

Most odd as the 1980 model year has as Alternator Warning ( an illuminated battery symbol ) in the same location as Johng`s post . It comes on when ignition is turned on and cancels once fired up .

That was introduced in 77,along with the low fuel light
