You are late to the party on this one Ross . I have been into John Mayall since about 1966 ish . He was the UK`s Blues maestro and just look at all the great names that played in the Bluesbreakers that went on to fame in their own right . Saw J M live a few times in the later years and was always blown away !! RIP John .Why is it that perhaps it take years to realise how good certain musicians have been? - just been 'knocked out' listening to the quality of John Mayalls Bluesbreakers 2022 album 'Stories'.
John Mayall died this July at 90 years old, having performed since the mid 50's and employed people like Eric Clapton, Peter Green early in their careers.....not for nothing was he known as the 'godfather of the british blues'
I did buy and really liked his album Bare Wires all those years ago!You are late to the party on this one Ross . I have been into John Mayall since about 1966 ish . So many good albums , Blues from Laurel Canyon etc etc .I did buy and really liked his album Bare Wires all those years ago!
The 'quality', modest, low key musicians so often don't get the 'breaks' into stardom. Many are no doubt happy to make a relatively living knowing that fame is a 'double edged sword'. Not knocking most of our musical stars - there are certainly some very good performers out there.......but also those living-off perhaps one or two highly manipulated recordings from many years ago. For me 'less' is so very often 'much more'. Love listening to on-line 'live' recordings for a more authentic experience. So many good albums , Blues from Laurel Canyon etc etc .
GenialEver get the opportunity to listen to Hendrix back 'in the day'? - no, few of us did..........listen to the Randy Hansen Band and compare with Hansen (live) for an astonishing play list so, achat levitra generique, so close to Jimi's playing its unreal.........
Definitely! Still have their AJA album (1977) cassette somewhere.Anyone into Steely Dan?
Its interesting 'drilling down' in to some of the bands 'of the day' and their respective members (and individual careers)There is much more to Steeley Dan than their obvious singles releases . Started to appreciate them more after hearing various album tracks .
And collaborations with other artists. Like this one from a couple of days ago:Its interesting 'drilling down' in to some of the bands 'of the day' and their respective members (and individual careers)
