Coincidentally, I keep a baseball bat in the corner of my bedroom..... but its more for a long running in-joke with some people.
Likewise , I have had a self made 20 inch long wooden truncheon beside the bed for years . The centre is bored out and a steel rod inserted for extra heft and finished off with a leather bound hand grip and wrist strap . If anyone wants to break into my house they are welcome to try as long as I am there to use it on them !!

That must be a bit of a collectors piece now as can`t remenber the last time I saw .
The original box is long gone I’m afraid and it’s worn a little but still in pretty good nick as I did look after my model. My two favourites are the James Bond silver Aston Martin, and the Man from UNCLE blue Ford.

That was an excellent feature on the thunderbird. It did indeed make entering and exiting a lot easier. Ladies especially could enter/exit quite elegantly.
Chrysler corporations swivel front seats were also quite good, if not quite gimmicky.

One of our neighbours in crouch end was a Thunderbird man. Started with a silver 58, then a lovely white 63, then a blue 65 convertible and finally a gold 69.
He had his number 2 CUT on every one. Saw the gold 69 a few years ago, in Hornsey/crouch end still with 2 CUT on it. Can’t be the original owner? Long past I would think.

Wasn't there a family in East or North London who always had several superb TBirds - Teddy Turner or Taylor rings a bell.
Some years back I nearly bought a pale metallic green '62 or '63 TBird coupe - unusually it had 427 badges on the front fenders......turned out seemingly to be 390 GT 340 hp spec engine with 3 x 2's.....'flooring' it at 30 mph or so would kick down a gear and break traction....not bad for car that was 2 ton or more!

Yep, Teddy Turner. He had the finest collection of Thunderbirds in the UK. First met him in 1977. I was a skinny little thing of 17, in a GT500 when I met him at a dog stall in Golders Green. ( he lived in Hampstead ££££) Became great friends. Nearly all his cars had CAT number plates. CAT 1 ( he paid £25 for that one) CAT 2,3,4,5, to name a few.
He had two 63 sports roadsters, 1 black, 1 white. The white one was CAT100. I believe his Grandson has or had them ( minus the numbers) CA done a article on them maybe 10 years ago.

He owned the infamous Mandrake club in Londons west End, and was a property developer. Lovely man. He also had a great collection of Aston Martins.

Seen at Sywell Piston & Props yesterday . Rare Vauxhall Viva GT , Allard and not so rare Cadillac with giant ` Dagmars ` Plus a string of Marcos`s ( or is that Marcii ? ) that are another of my favourite marques . In the Silverstone Social display was DSC_1479 (1).JPGDSC_1286.JPGDSC_1282.JPGDSC_1274.JPG an immaculate Citreon Traction Avant that was totally original and un molested !
