Seat belt buckle warning lght on 76 coupe

Hi all
I’m trying to establish if the buckle warning switch on the drivers side is any good,can I do a continuity test on the two wires coming from the said buckle.
thanks for any help/advice guys

If it is the same as a 78, then the switch should be open circuit with the seat belt is buckled and closed circuit when it's not.

Ok so,assuming it’s the same I have no continuity with the buckle undone do you think I could get continuity checking back towards the light in the gauge panel from the belt connector johng

As you may have guessed I’m no electrician,and I was pretty sure the buckle end was shot but I’m trying to establish if the wiring is ok back to the warning light

I had to clean these up to be able to read
Yes use an Ohm meter to ring out as I show in wiring drawing below

As you can see from JR's post, the buckle doesn't connect directly to the light (other than the earth connection). Does the light come on for 4 to 8 seconds when you turn the ignition on? If not then the buzzer unit may be toast, mine was.
