Securing Wheel tub on my C2

Just fitted longer bolts to my wheel tub so I can store a larger tyre in there …as I was fitting it … had an idea .. and while tightening it up the securing bolt at the rear with a 3/4 spanner..noticed it ended up right next to the brace… so it’s now cable tied in place … ready for me to brake the cable ties and remove the spare tyre if needed.. no fiddling with a key slot full of crap under the car … wrapped a little neoprene tape around the spanner in two places before tightening the cable ties… we don’t want it rattling .. lol

Assuming you have a jack for your Corvette the lug nut wrench (I know you have after market wheels now) fits the carrier bolt and twists the jack

Yes my lug nuts are larger .. and my mechanical bottle jack is in the car with its extendable handle..in the stowage tubs behind the seats ..

Always a pain in the ass changing a wheel on a C2. Hard enough for males, let alone a female. The so called by their official name “ quick take off wheels” can be a right pain. Trying to get the old wheel back into the tray is difficult without soiling your clothes, getting the tray back up is even harder.
The last time I had to do it was in/on a country road in Belgium during the mid 90’s. Hopefully I’ll never have to do it again.

Got a slow leak on one tyre on the '66 that I need to take off and have fixed but can't be arsed yet once they're on correct it's a bugger to disturb them

Having a puncture n the road with knock-offs isn't much fun. Happened to me on the way to Portsmouth on my 2008 Le Mans trip. Was on the A346 a couple of miles south of the M4 when I felt the tyre go flat. Of course it just had to happen on a stretch of two-lane road with narrow verges, so it was over a mile before I was able to pull off into a farm entrance, by which time smoke was visible behind the car. Fortunately, although the tyre was damaged beyond repair, the wheel itself was OK.

I can recommend keeping a small kneeling pad in the car for such occasions!
