Sourcing ignition leads HEI

Remember there are two water pump types used on earlier (perhaps even later) C3's. Certainly applicable to big block cars (perhaps SBC's) - 'short' and 'long' type water pumps.
If you have 'short' style water pump its possible the belts won't align correctly. More importantly the rear of the respective pulley can interfere with the water pump fixings.......there is a spacer lit kit available which most people seem to use.......spacer kit is basically several 2" or so diameter alluminium discs.......simply use enough of them (usually all that are supplied in the kit) to clear water pump behind and assure correct pulley alignment.
Great info, I'll have a look at that this weekend.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread and I know you now have new plug leads but if anyone else is in the market for new leads I have just purchased spiral wound plug leads for my Chevy C10 from Anglo Classic Car Parts Ltd and they are amazing, when I started up after fitting them I had to reduce the idle speed as the leads were so much better than the old ones, and the old ones weren't actually old. I did a lot of reading before purchasing these leads and unlike the normal carbon leads which have a high resistance to provide supression from interference these have a low resistance which works well with the resistor plugs which are the only ones readily available these days. I bought 8 metres which was plenty for my HEI distributor with coil in cap if you have the seperate coil type there was plenty left over for a coil lead. I bought the cable and crimped my ends on myself so I could run the leads the way I wanted them. I have no connection with this company other than as a satisfied customer and I'm sure similar cables are available from other suppliers.
