Al last a vaguely reasonable person. Yes! Try joint some other car forums. Mine are so like a mafia as this one is. I continue and get advice for Ford, AMG, classic Mustang and classic Chevy truck. All nice people and money or blackmail never come into It. Weirdest ever experience here for sure. Glad you appear sane!Indeed, but until people do know the club, what we do and don't do it's easy to get a bit wrong sided and its common in clubs and especially online. Let's not alienate the newbies either - even if they cross the odd line, I can see how the club's approach can seem dismissive sometimes. Even the name wound me up initially until I learnt to think that a brand new C8 can still be "Classic". Thinking about it, probably 90 + % of our members own a decades old, non supported import and we aren't set-up like say a BMW club with lots of new car issues, warranties, manufacturer representation and accountability etc. When we all get together for a pint and to discuss things we may find we all get on. TBH I'd quite like to trade the C8 for a C6 Z06 and try the more authentic ownership experience!
Only just read this thread tonight so responded accordingly . You started bitching before you joined . End of !!!And the next…. funny how you all show up and bitch AFTER Ive joined and paid! And something helpful is?

Great thanks Keith, I just typed a 1,000 word essay..What's done is done - can we all please wind our necks in as enough has surely been said.
End of!!, lovely. school of hard knocks strikes again…the only bitching was from you as I can see. Until me Pete clocked me until I paid (aka blackmail) all was fine. Learn from other forums. Don’t extort from people. They will join if they feel welcome. Right now, I’d like a refund.!Only just read this thread tonight so responded accordingly . You started bitching before you joined . Thanks for the welcome. Do you even get any new members without extorting them?Great thanks Keith, I just typed a 1,000 word essay..
Kinda hoping the 'Escapist' doesn't escape oop north
Thanks. very helpful. Where are you based? I’ll emigrate there.Use some Silicon spray on your roof rubbers to stop it squeaking when they dry out after the hoods been down or off. Check the dry sump oil level at least monthly - they use a little if you're heavy footed. Set-up your Z mode and read up what PTM modes are. If your launching it, check it launches from 3500 not 2200 if it does - the setup isn't right. Note the brake duct cooler if you're doing heavy track use. Go through every option in the setting - most people don't prefer the out of the box setting as some features aren't utilised. It will drive OK in snow and foul weather in weather mode. Setup my mode for cruising. The sunglasses holder as such is the gap behind the touch screen display. Don't put perishables in the boot. I'd recommend PPF the front bumper and under the side skirts as they get a lot of rash. Use a bettary tender if you don't drive it daily. Plug is in the Frunk and can be used to power things (I have a little cooler in the frunk for tinnies). Don't race brown ones - they're the fastest of the bunch! You can setup the info tiles to be more interesting - I like to watch LSD engagement and transmission temp. Get an SD card and set up the Drive recording its great to be able to replay drives on the in car screen. You need Mag Ride and Z51 for all the PTM modes and setup, do you have those? Hopefully that £45 worth! I published that online and in the magazine this year. Read the magazine and the online Calendar and attend at least one club meet. It was doing that showed me all the events I could be part of and introduced to me a local and very helpful community. The cars are great, usually very reliable and as we can support 1950s Vettes without the help of GM I expect we will manage with the new generations too.
Don't use track mode (with mag ride) on potholed roads. At best you'll buckle the wheels, at worst crack them or damage the suspension mounts. Not seen this in the UK, but seems to have been an issue for a few cars in the US.
Regards, Keith
