Miss our Dodge.. That was a car and a half even in 125deg on the way in to Death Valley. Makes me laugh when I hear of people wanting a ragtop to 'tour the west'!

We've done tens of thousnds of miles over in the US, a lot in California and the west, but have now done 30 states, including Route 66 three times. With one exception, all in a convertible and almost always with the top down! We did relent once after crossing Death Valley and arriving in LAs Vegas with the outside temp showing 112 degrees. Getting caught isn a rains torm on teh Freeway close to Flagstaff was "fun" - had to wait 'till we were off it to stop and put the top up and I think we got wetter while stopped and the top rose than when we'd been doing 70mph!

The debris on top of the ice on the RHS may relate to what's left of the wooden garage wall and indicate owner needs to fix brakes! Albeit, I notice there aren't any tyre marks on the surface, so maybe was driving it onto ramp in garage to fix the brakes and then re-enacted a scene from Dukes of Hazard/Knightrider/Smokey and the Bandit!😂

Can anyone find an "OOPS" of a C3 that has "turned turtle" and is being supported on the roll hoop / bar and possibly the windscreen frame, ok I know it would have to be structually sound anyway, but looking at some pics - does the roll hoop do nothing to protect when inverted?
Found this C3

Never quite got how you could mess that up so badly so late in the 'race'. I mean, you're more likely to spin out early on when you're in the lowest gear with most rear-wheel torque. By comparison, my 02 Camaro Z28 has the exact same engine as that C5 that started the crash, but with an auto box (don't know if he was auto or manual). So the main difference between us would be that mine has even less weight over the rear axle and worse suspension. Yet this morning (for example), it was a tad damp, about 10degC, so hardly ideal conditions... yet I managed a full power start from some lights (quiet bit of trunk road, nice place to blow the cob webs out) without loosing any traction at all (I give up by 70ish, as after that the soft top starts getting VERY noisy!). I could feel the back end squirming a tad, but barely noticeable. And that's with a torque convertor giving me a little extra grunt off the line.

So how do these knobs in 'better' cars keep messing up so bad? Maybe a rough manual shift from 1st to 2nd?
