Anyone actually thought to go to a tyre place like Quickfit etc??
They do these as part of their job.
They can do dual frequency ones and program them as well.
Had one done for my C6 Z06 not so long ago for the mot.

I actually thought about that as the frequency used in Europe is the same for all cars, but I've got one on the way now from Derek for a UK spec Vette.

Strangely enough, the tyre pressure monitor that is getting replaced suddenly sprung into action and registered a false overpressure of 63 psi when I negotiated a roundabout. It's back registering nothing though.

Tyre pressure sensor replaced yesterday - it had snapped in half. Tyre had to be removed from the rear due to wheel construction - 1 valve for inflation, and 1 for the sensor. This is due to the wheel not having a well and because of this, the sensor sits flat across the rim. Hopefully will be getting the system trained tonight.

I've investigated further and it appears that there are different euro spec tpms depending on the year of the car. My friend in good faith quoted me the part number for his euro spec 1999 car, but mine is a 2001 and needs part number 20807214 (from the one I took off). Looking on the net is quite confusing as some info I've found about part number 10354987 is that it is for a euro car, but others say it's for a US frequency - confusing or what. Upshot is I'll get one from rockauto, and when I change it out I'll have the wrong one up for grabs. Incidentally, both items looked identical, and the one I bought had made in UK written on it's packaging, so one would assume it was euro spec.

Further confusion, I went on Rockauto website to order a replacement and whilst the one listed as an original component is 20807214, another 433mhz product lists 10354987 as compatible, so I'm at a loss. The only thing I can think now is that possibly the battery was flat on the item i bought.

Hello Pete
First off need to confirm you have an export c5 – the RPO label (3”x2”) in glove box should have EXP listed.
The 25773946 (check number 5) would be USA 01-04 315mhz
The 10354987 is for Export 97-04 i.e. 433mhz
I do have 1 x 20807214 in stock – this is also Export 433mhz £80 plus post
BTW – its possible to test the sensor without fitting to tyre – simply get into tire learn and use a magnet to program the sensor (LF is the 1st in the procedure) out of the wheel.

My car doesn't have EXP on the label, so I photographed the label and sent to Keith and await a reply. I do believe it is a UK car though. I am coming to the opinion that the item I bought may be faulty.

This may not apply to your case Pete

Due to where TPSM are made, and the time they may sit unsold makers of ones made more recent put the sensor into
a sleep mode to prevent the FOB battery from draining.

Once installed they must first be taken out of sleep mode by using a TPSM tool that does that.
Then the relearn/sync with car is done but IF again they are type that has sleep mode that must be done first
or relearn process will fail

Best then to ask the seller if the sensor they are selling does have the sleep mode function
