ULEZ 'Expansion' - August 2023 - how this may affect you!

The most stupid plan that's being rolled out in some cities and boroughs both here in the UK and in Europe is the "15 minute city" plan. This is where a town or city is broken-up in to several regions - each region has it own series of essential shops and services (like doctors etc) that can supposedly cover all households within each region. The idea being that you will use the shops and services within your region, travelling there by foot, bicycle or public transport. If choosing to use to visit the shops a car you will be charged if you want to enter other regions.............but not to travel out of the city. How crazy is that? - what if your local shop is too expensive, doesn't stock what you want, closed, whatever...........the lunatics are 'most definately' starting to run the assylum!
then we will get gangs treading on other gangs “turf” and all the crime and violence that will bring , then we will get “citylines” drug problems as well as county lines.
Already a recent case of a biker gang in plymouth running over a rival biker and killing him because he was on their patch.
Obviously been watching too much “sons of anarchy” how impressionable some people are, … grown men, pathetic!
As mad as saying the corvette club cant drive through the mustang club’s territory🙄

Not a ULEZ issue currently...................An interesting and perhaps worrying development for anyone with an affected vehicle in Europe following on from the 'Dieselgate' scandal a few years ago. This was where VW and other car manufacturers were forced to pay damages to buyers of cars fitted with supposed OEM 'defeat' devices allowing vehicles to emit far higher levels of NOx under certain driving conditions. It cost VW huge sums of money in the USA (less here). If you own a Euro 5 or Euro 6 diesel built before the 2019 RDE (real world economy testing) it might be worth reading and following where it all goes. It’s time for Europe to address diesel defeat devices once and for all - International Council on Clean Transportation
