CCCUK EAST ANGLIA REGION (but open to all!)

We have organised a visit to the North Norfolk Steam Railway Vintage Transport Festival on Saturday July 6th. Although the event runs all weekend, we have arranged for 'more modern' vehicles to attend on the Saturday. The parking area will host up to 400 'vintage' cars (i.e. over 30 years old) on the Sunday, so there will be plenty of room for us on Saturday.

The big plus is that each of us can get an 'all day rover' ticket to hop on/hop off on the North Norfolk Steam Railway (NNR) with unlimited use for the whole day (up to 5pm) for a prepayment of only £5 (normal price £22)! PLEASE NOTE: This offer is limited to the number of people attending in a Corvette or similar classic which is on display in the designated parking area and each car/driver must pre-register through myself and pay £5 per ticket required in advance. N.B. This event is not limited to CCCUK members.

We will meet at Holt Station and park in the Hospital field right next to the station for around 10am. After parking up members will be free to roam the NNR as they wish. The railway runs for approximately 11 miles from Holt to Sheringham with one stop en route at Weybourne.

Although there are a number of eateries in Sheringham I am suggesting that those that want to could meet up for lunch at The Crown pub on the promenade (next to Sheringham Museum) although this is entirely optional and I'll confirm nearer the day.

In addition, there should be one or two vintage buses/coaches at Holt and we can get a ride on them for free too. For more details on the NNR please visit their website at https://www.nnrailway.co.uk/vintage-transport-weekend/

If you would like to reserve a place and pre-book your train tickets please let me know your name, car registration and number of tickets required and I'll confirm payment details.

It should be a great day out and I'll (almost) guarantee great weather!!

Looks like it would be a good day out. Love a steam railway. Sadly, to get there for 9am from my place, I'd have to leave at 2am just to drive that distance. Sadly, the Corvette would also need to be refuelled on the way there too, so more likely leave at 1:30am which would not amuse my neighbours.

I think I'll opt out of it thanks. Shame though, as it looks good. Hope you all have a good time.

Side note: We ought to organise a steam railway Corvette event down in the south west.

Sorry I cannot join you as I would have been in my element needless to say . The Great Central Railway also has its Vintage Vehicle Weekend that weekend and I have committed to manning our 5305 Locomotive Association `s sales stand over the weekend to raise much needed funds for our loco overhaul . CaptainK has given me food for thought about trying to organise a special CCCUK meet and display our cars at the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire .DSC_3846.JPG
I am sure you will have a great time on the North Norfolk Railway , it`s a great railway in lovely countryside and some fab locos . Visited several times over the years and was last there in October last year when this beast was in action departing Sheringham ..

Been away on hols, but your plan Chuffer of Steam & V8s sounds good. I keep having thoughts about WSR Steam & V8s events. But they have their own rally / fayre every year, so it seems a bit redundant.

I thought I'd add a couple of photos from the visit as we had a good (but a bit damp) day in Holt/Sheringham on the North Norfolk Steam Railway at the Festival of Transport. Not many interesting cars there on Saturday but I believe there would've been more on Sunday but the rain was much worse!

Sorry to hear that the rain ruined the North Norfolk event too . Love the photos though .You tell the weather was crap because the crew on the old Somerset & Dorset Railway 2-8-0 No. 53809 have the Storm Sheet lashed up even though they are as much use as an umbrella in hurricane , especially when running tender first !!!
