A beautiful evening today for a quick blast up the A5 to the first Monday evening gathering of the season of the Long Buckby & District Classic car Club hosted on the hallowed turf of Long Buckby Rugby Club . Over 60 cars turned up to the free to enter meeting and chicken & chips in the club house for £5 if so desired .
An eclectic mix of cars that had to be at least 25 years old . All manner of rarities from a Gogomobile micro car through to a Type 57 Bugatti with a real patina , a one family owned pre HE Jaguar XJS V12 , an Offenhauser twin Quadrajet powered special that must be hell on wheels to drive , a stunning Chevy Impala and a Mustang GT350 . Plus one of my old work colleagues concourse MK 2 Lotus Cortina he`s owned for 36 years . Not to mention a few Cobras too .
Then it was a great blast home on a very quiet A5 with the sun going down and the cool moist laden country air making the Vette run like a dream .
