What have you done today

I did a 4500 piece block build that I finished last year. What with other projects and stuff taking up my time, it took a couple of years. It wasn't Lego branded, but same stuff. Instructions not so good and pieces just all bundled up (not in progress / section bags like Lego). So most of my time used up finding the bits I needed. Great fun though.

Just done a Lego Harry Potter build, and got two more to do, and a 007 Aston Martin.

This was my first Lego car, back in the 70’s. I thought it was the business with rack and pinion steering and the single (square!) cylinder with a piston moving up and down. With bits from another kit I remember modifying it into a twin cylinder engine, I was a bit too young and not enough parts to develop a V8!

Lego has changed a lot since those days where the shape was all made with blocks. There are so many specific parts and panels on todays models to make them replicate the real car.

Being a child of the 50`s , Lego is a totally different animal from when Lego first burst onto the scene . You had red bricks , white bricks , square bricks and rectangular bricks and gray base plates . That was it ! Then they brought out doors and windows so you build houses etc . When transparent bricks with a 12 volt `festoon` bulb inside came out we thought it was the most exciting thing ever !!!

I took my wiper door linkage out and put it back in over the weekend. Fixed a number of problems created by the previous owner bodges. But seemingly created another.

It was a little after my time but my younger sisters would play with it - I enjoyed building houses with it. Todays Lego tbh leaves me a little cold......my 40+ son has a few of the latest cars.......but a Ford GT that looks nothing like the car it represents AND the elevated price......why not build a large scale car model? - are Pocher still being made?

Well the second part of the film shoot went ok and they sent this first draft short for Insta video with a longer version to come. I had no input into the background music choice but what the hell, great tune anyway
