On the subject of exhaust header/manifold flange to head joint the multi layer ally gaskets work really well and can be re-used several times. Percy's ised to make them but someone else that bought them out - a header manufacturer I think/

The orignal gaskets i binned. The new set i bought i have used one to fit a new head and removed that head after a week.

Maybe only fitted a week and maybe not even fired the engine up but has presumably still been torqued up correctly and therefore compressed .
