C3 Race Car Build

Good thinking Chuffer - you're right that the twin tail pipes would suggest a V8 (although a bit small for an american lump) and the body was designed as an homage to the Frazer-Nash Le Mans Replica. It's an unfair question really since the car is a Special. It started out as one of these......

......(not this one - that's mine) It was owned by Sean Mooney, a Director of Turrino Wire Wheels. He wrote the original body off in a crash and commissioned Project Heaven to fit a (very expensive!) new body, very much on the lines of the Frazer-Nash. The frontal aspect is more of a giveaway.......

.....since it sports the grille from the Daimler engined Jaguar MK 2 Saloon. Underneath the car is pretty standard SP250 and fitted of course with Turrino wheels. It made a great noise up Shelsley! :) (y)
Looks stunning and I was half right then . :D This genuine SP250 is up for sale to a good home . It belonged to my dearly departed and much missed friend Tony Ward who was a very accomplished but modest amature racer back in his younger day and a top a spanner man for gentlemen racers having built Dick Protheroe`s famous CUT 7 lightweight E Type . Very nice looking SP - I hope it finds a good home.

Nice vid Oneball - hope the gearbox is OK now - I know you probably have removed all heat/sound insulation......but the 'box does sound a bit noisy - remind us - is is a M21 or M22 spec'?

It’s an M22 so about as you’d expect noise wise. Seems to be working. Its way quieter than the fully straight cut box in the Mini. It’s also got a somewhat not Vette-like exhaust sound
Here’s the only vid from the outside I’ve got.

Changed the alternator belt for a half inch shorter one from CK, so fingers crossed it won’t throw it off again.

And got an entry for Prescott on 1st October.

Quite a few interesting cars in the entry list along with the usual smattering of Evos, Escorts, Clios, and Bugattis, there’s Abarths, a McLaren and even a Chaparral.

"Cheer up" they said, "Things could be worse"
So I cheered up - and sure enough, things got worse.....:((n)

Gearbox wows are back so some effort over the winter required. Popping out of gear again but there is a definite rumble in neutral that goes when you press the clutch F527EC92-D030-4614-8DBD-65508854EF5D.jpeg

Love the McLaren M12 Can Am, and it is a road-going car. I won’t believe my eyes if I ever see that on the road.
Its at around 1hr 39mins on the coverage.

There’s a photo of that car on the M25 somewhere, can’t find it at the moment.

The reg is a bit of a fiddle, the guy who owned that also owned Bruce’s M6GT, he sold the GT to the states and used the V5 on the M12. If you google the reg it’ll come up with the M6GT.
