I recall when the last/latest iteration of the RR Phantom was released..........as one might expect, superb interior quality and build (and without the stupid led star like roof panel) - the 'bluff' front-end was totally at odds with the rest of the car.......and BMW motive power.....hmmmm.
Ten years on and we are all used to seeing its mismatched 'face' - but its still an ugly thing.

I'm just wondering if Jaguar is thinking/planning the 2026 4 door will be a Bentley/RR sized competitor (see CarWow article above)? How much is a new Bentley? £200k "ish" up? Maybe the "£100k plus" Jag will be £200k"ish" once you have all those essential/nice to have options on it? ;)

Had a late model XJ in front of me this morning. Beautiful car in dark metallic blue. Surprised that buyers would choose a Mercedes over it? I know what I would pick. Obviously I’m in the minority.

On it's debut in '61 I remember my mates and I mocking the gigantic size of the Mk 10 'Prunkwagen' barge - even William Lyons admitted that the later XJ6 was a more 'appropriate' width. It was nevertheless a surprisingly capable car. After many years of fetching 'banger money' those Mk 10's and 420G's that haven't succumbed to terminal rust are commanding very strong prices.

I know, I really fancied one but when I looked last year they’d gone up beyond my price range, ended up with the Mercury instead which is also blooming huge :D

I clearly remember the first time I saw one in the `metal` . I was about 10 0r 11 years old and was on summer holiday with my parents in Llandudno where we went for several years . It was parked down the road from our holiday flat and filled up half the road ! It looked the size of an aircraft carrier compared to my dads Morris Minor !!

Mark/420G's - not perhaps one for the purists but arguably a more driveable car still with full oem interior. Keith Smith built this years many ago. Last interation was 496 cu in BBC Chevy with twin superchargers. Built on a part tube frame chassis and according to Keith it lost about 500 lbs of deadweight. Wonder if he still tours the UK and continent towing his caravan with wife and kids?

Probably not worth spending 21mins of your life watching this, but headline does say Jaguar "Reborne as Uber Luxury Brand". Sounds expensive?

According to this weeks Autocar, the 2026 4 door "super -GT" will be a £120k-plus Porsche Taycan rival. Two EV rivals (SUV and saloon) for the Bentley Bentayga and Merc S-Class will appear before 2030.

In another article in Autocar, it says that "Lotus will launch no new model lines in the next two years, but will instead focus on introducing new range-extender hybrids in response to waning demand for electric luxury cars"
