Indeed. I think the BL Brown was called Havana Brown. We had a couple of stags that colour. Wasn’t too keen on it on them back then, but now I don’t mind it.
Gold on Bronze. Groovy man.I think period colours are what make cars interesting.
They show “russet” for 1977 and 1978, and Dominican Brown for 1979-1982.Ive been trying to find the colour name of my fathers metallic brown 1979 Colt Sigma.. it was about three words, highly pretentious and didnt even mention brown, i wish i could remember it. I will make one up.. something like (but nothing like).. 'Windsor Castle Titanium'.

That name sounds very familiar, your right. Wasn’t a favourite of mine back then, but quite like it now. It’s period correct and suits the car nowadaysThe brown on minis and stags was russet brown i seem to remember
My first car was a 72 mk1 escort 1300 sport in daytona yellow, cloth seats and midland metallick 4 spoke alloys . Great colour. My second was a 1970 3 litre capri gt xlr with flared arches , banded steels with 225 /60 /13’s and painted chrysler “deep mango metallic” also a great colour and a bit before all the mark 4 cortinas turned up in “Roman Bronze”Saffron was one colour I hated back then, now not so much on BL cars of the 70’s
Like early 3 Series Beemers.....only on dry roads...MK1 3.0 ltr capri’s were great cars. All capri’s looked the part, but the 3.0ltr delivered the goods.
