What's Going On at Ian Allan?

I would assume the new official Chevrolet dealers will do the services on Ian Allen motors supplied cars under the GM warranty
That in itself would be worrying I'm guessing to C8 owners..........a 'new' franchise and technicians 'new' to C8......what could go wrong?|..........does one become 'skilled' in C8 or any Corvette tech overnight?

One would assume all their technical guys/mechanics/fitters have been well trained by GM to allow the franchise to operate correctly, so hopefully your car should be in good hands. If any problems, no one could say you took it to the wrong place to have the work done. Just keep that warranty valid.

Agree with you Nassau........but given that GM C8 tech knowledge would be minimal in UK (remembering that most of their UK based/european Chevrolet/Corvette/Cadillac were laid off) I wonder how they achieve it?

Would this GM Chevy website in the UK help in finding GM approved qualified service for the C8s ?

There’s apparently going to be 2 or three locations between 2 different companies, possibly more in the future? I would have thought a London or Home Counties one would or should be on the cards.

Perhaps they have hired some of the laid off guys, but that’s doubtful. Obviously some thought has been put into this venture bearing in mind the cost involved to the companies wanting/getting the franchise.

I suppose GM has viewed the success of the RHD mustang being sold here and wanted a slice of “that” pie. Of course the corvette in NOT a mustang. Less seats, more money. But as they say “there’s an ass for every seat” Chevrolet will just have to find them.

If I had a C8 I would only wait until Part USA could fit me in until the new dealers are up to snuff. Last I heard though Parts USA are booked through to July....

My C8 is coming up for 3 years old in March, so no warranty to worry about going forward, but Ian Allan have looked after it thus far. I have been considering other options anyway, as I do find the service from Ian Allan was pretty spotty at best. I don't care how fancy a coffee is at a dealer, but I do care about basic customer service. I just don't think they were set up well to selling cars of this value, given the other brands they sold.
