Less Grahams SWC that suffered an electrical mishap on the way to the shoot. I'll be taking the '71 LT-1 again

Sad to have missed the event yesterday. Is the owner of that ZR1 on this forum?

The Corvettes look fantastic on the CCCUK Facebook page! Many congrats to Stuart/Mr. Cricket on winning the prize/award with his red C3. (y) Dumb question tho. I am not sure from the Facebook comments what the award was for?

Aah to answer my own question:
"Corvette – A Design Icon, Presented by Classic & Sports Car and The Classic Corvette Club UK – 1971 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray LT-1"

What a ride! 9 hours in fact including a quick stop off at EMC, thanks Gavin! If you get an invite to this event you have to go - spectacular best-of-the-best cars on display in a stunning cricket pitch setting in the heart of London. An oasis if you will.. some of the scenery wasn't half bad either *wink*

I think the judges were just stuck on the range of stunning Corvettes on show and said just give it to that one and lets move on :D

Great meeting everyone and hope you get well soon Robert

Never been to the London one, but go to the Hampton Court CdeE every year (September this year). In the grounds of Hampton Court Palace. Not sure which is the bigger/better one? I'm looking fwd to Sunday 1st September. American Car Day at Brooklands in the morning/Hampton Court CdeE in the aftermoon. Congrats again on the prize. (y)

Don’t put your car down. It was obviously very well deserved. Well done.
I think the corvette C3 in its various forms is “the” corvette in most people’s eyes. It seems to have been around forever and is soo recognisable.

All the Corvettes were beautifully presented and all special in their own right but time and time again, people over the three days said the Corvette they most think of was the C3 shape. I took and displayed some of the original owner documents including the window sticker, warrantee leaflet that still has the Protecto plate, hand book and other stuff including a pile of dealer give-away’s that had never seen daylight. That lot blew the judge’s mind.

Last year at the Nationals was the first time out for it in ages and then again it was tucked away until this event but I absolutely loved the days spent driving it and the attention it got and it drove flawlessly. I’ll get it out more in future.

Never had a C3, but yes that's definitely true. C3 chrome bumper a fabulous looking car! (y)

I have to take it to the Concours of Elegance, Hampton Court Palace now. I could say bugger off but I don't believe that would go down well

I live round the corner from HC so go most years. Once in a lifetime opportunity to exhibit there and great for the car's history file. Especially given the high value cars it will be rubbing shoulders with.

Was the c4 zr1 owner from the London Concours a forum member? Trying to find at least one other owner. Never met one.

Definitely! Was wondering if CCCUK guys were turning up? If so, what day(s)? Saturday and/or Sunday? Displaying in the grounds? Presume you have to turn up/park the car "early" for that, as in previous years? I live local and doing Brooklands American Car day on Sunday morning and HC in afternoon. Happy to do a taxi service from HC to Brooklands and back for anyone who fancies a trip to Brooklands in the morning.

One will have to have a make-over :D No Jorts, New Balance trainers, gold chain and club polo allowed damnit

It would be great if there were other members there but the invite is just for the class winners from last week and other clubs. From their invite:

Dear Mr Cricket,

Firstly, our congratulations to you on winning the Chevrolet Corvette Class at the recent London Concours.
As a winning car we would like to extend an invitation to you to display the car at our sister event the Concours of Elegance, Hampton Court Palace and entering it in The Club Trophy.
The Club Trophy brings together award winning cars from the UK’s leading car clubs with the winning car invited, in the following year, to take part in the main Concours line up of 60 cars.
Attached are further details on the event and an entry form.
If you would like to enter your car, please could you complete and return the form?
(There is no entry charge as our invitation is part of the reward for winning the Class Award.)
We very much hope you will be able to join us on Saturday 31st August at Hampton Court Palace and look forward to hearing from you.

Yah at the last one they HAD to choose a Corvette as we were in our own class. This next show I can see the Corvette being very lonely all day  Almost wishing I'd left the cherry bombs on it now :devilish:

You gotta do it?/No Brainer?/Easy win? :) Win or not, when I go, I come out thinking yeah OK but still love a Corvette over anything else.
