Pleased to be able to announce that I have booked the band Ignition to perform at the Nationals again. They will however this time be playing recorded music before they play live followed by more recorded music until later into the evening so we get a mix of DJ & live performance.

Good afternoon members.

You may be aware of Lumen Automotive in Shrewsbury who are one of the new GM dealerships selling C8 Corvettes.

Lumen I’m excited to confirm will be attending the Nationals on Saturday & Sunday and will have on display a C8 Stingray, an E Ray and a C8 ZO6.

Two rides in the E Ray and two in the ZO6 are available on Sunday and THREE of the lucky winners will be drawn out of a hat at the gala dinner on Saturday night. The winners in the order they are drawn can choose E Ray or ZO6.

One raffle ticket will be given to each of the gala dinner attendees both members and partners with the draw taking place following the dinner.

The remaining ticket will be in a random gift bag stapled to the judging sheet included in the gift bag.

The Corvettes will be driven by Lumen employees.

There are still a few places left at the Aviator hotel on site on Saturday and also a few gala dinner places available.

If anyone needs the hotel booking code or gala dinner menu and costs please reply back to me so I can assist.

We’ve had some amazing outfits at previous Nationals with the few images below being from 2024 and an Aviation theme.

This year we’re going with a Corvette owners No.1 dress uniform suggested by our own Nigel Dobbie and seconded by numerous members I have discussed with:
  1. New Balance white trainers (other white trainers acceptable!)
  2. Calf length white sports socks.
  3. Denim shorts (Jorts) + belt.
  4. Hawaiian style shirt tucked in (initially!)
  5. Gold neck chains outside of shirt optional.

This is for the Saturday night and yes it can be considered unisex 😊

Afternoon all.

Very happy to say that cost savings the club have been negotiating in particular with Vette News printing and postage and membership card options by Colin & Rob we are on target to have a small surplus in the bank.

On this basis we voted in last evenings committee meeting to suspend the previously notified entrance fee to club members attending the Corvette Nationals.

Have just noticed differences in the socks in the photo of the suggested Saturday night dress code:

- Two pairs have no stripes
- One pair has one stripe
- Two pairs have two stripes
- One pair has three stripes

Does this indicate some kid of military ranking? If so, how will those attending know how many stripes their socks should have?

We have this type of set up at my clients family day each year . I’ve never played it, but it is so high tec compared to the old stuff I was used to in the 60’s and 70’s. The kids love it. I think it’s No2 to build a bear which is the favourite
