Looks and sounds good!Little bit of the car 10s in
Hurst shifter redone with a rebuild kit and a weaker spring I found. Will try it out when the box is back together, does seem much smoother across the gate. View attachment 18555
That engine and box will know their way in and out of the car by heart now Tim.
Linkage all welded and fitted properly. Just need to sort the clutch then it can go back in

Sounds a bit like our friends dads Lamborghini Espada back in the early 70’s. If he took it out on Sunday, it was back in the shop on Monday. So back on the road Saturday and gearbox out again on Sunday?
Oh ye of little faith - I've every confidence that Tim will have it sorted this time. (.....and no, I'm not a betting man )So back on the road Saturday and gearbox out again on Sunday?
I’ve always found it easy to tell what’s wrong when opening a box. The more I think about it the more I think it’s the new parts being machined to use torque-lock sliders, it’s the most likely cause, we’ll see. This is the trouble with rebuilding a gearbox…..you can never be 100% sure of what is okay to go back in and what needs replacing. Or just replace everything (except the case) at great cost. I had my gearbox rebuilt professionally only a few thousand miles ago and now needs another rebuild, might do it myself this time then will only have myself to blame!
Manual gearboxes appear to be fickle devils, even though they’re supposed to be “rock crushers”
