Attitude certainly - nice looking? ....ErrrrmModified mean street machine.
You couldn’t drive it round my way, speed humps everywhere. Some of them are like mountains.
If it makes you guys feel any better , the roads in Northamptonshire have been crap for years and are now worse than some third world countries . I successfully sued Northamtonshire County Council several years ago because a large pothole punctured a tyre and damaged two 20 inch split rim alloys on my Jaguar XKR . The pothole was on their inspection reports for weeks and not repaired before my incident . It took a few months of hassle to get compensation and nearly went to court .You're not in East Sussex are you, as I am? Lots of our roads look like war zones and have been for some years.
Good on you for doing that. If more people did it the councils would have to up their game and sort their/out roads out. I’ve told my nephew to contact the council and ask for compensation for the damaged caused. If it makes you guys feel any better , the roads in Northamptonshire have been crap for years and are now worse than some third world countries . Tell him to ask for the council`s previous two years of inspection reports for that section of highway and also a copy of there processes and procedures and method statements for dealing with reported pot holes and other highway damage . There are Codes of Practice they should adhere to and depend on the size in area and depth of pothole , the rating of the highway in question , be it a minor road , B road , A road and the speed limit apertaining to location that section of highway . It is all available under the Freedom of Informattion Act . The deeper the pothole and the higher the speed limit , the quicker they must repair it . In some cases it should be within 24 hours or the report or inspection . Take photos if possible of the pot hole and the damage it caused and send them with your claim . Be prepared for a long fight and being fobbed off time and again even when you get a `standard letter` disclaiming liability from their legal team . I had all this but wouldn`t back down and even wrote a letter of complaint directly to the Chief Excecutive of Northamptonshire Council ( NCC) giving him 30 days notice of my intention to take him to the Small Claims Court . I had worked for NCC for 25 years and knew what a bunch of shysters that had become and new the system . A cheque arrived in the post for my full claim just the day before it was due to go to court .Good on you for doing that. Trouble is they are now junk. I bought a set of BFG's that the RWL turned brown sat in the garage so researched 'blooming' to death and made the change to redlines on the C3's. It's not just environmental controls that affects the tyre manufacture that causes the raised brown letter issue but controls on substances that would clean the oil off. Bleche White changed and is now useless, raceglaze the same. Would be interesting if Nigel would add his thoughts to this?Looks so much less aggressive with whitewall tires, than with white lettered tires. I must admit I’ve always preferred lettered tyres on Corvettes 1968-1982.
I have managed to get away with just two small brown spots on my new BFG`s after cleaning off the protective blue coating . Anoyingly three goes with Bleche White have reduced it but not removed it completely . As you say , nothing works these days like the original good old stuff . Creosote substitute being a case in point since the old oil based stuff was banned .Trouble is they are now junk.
