I think my next classic will either be the 77-78 trans am se or a bouncy lowrider with chains steering wheel. I would go really over the top with it. :ROFLMAO:

Lowriders and girls always seen to go together well. I think I would go the trans am route. I was lucky enough to have them when they were cheap, now they are big money. Nothing better than a T-Top T/A.

I know black is the ultimate Color for a Trans Am, and I’ve had a few black ones in my time, but some of the other Color’s are lovely.

what’s not to like.

High quality los angeles 70s footage

This is high quality footage of los angeles cars and people living their life. I didn't spot any vettes though. The youtube channel is full of these videos well worth checking out if you love that time period. Song playing is You little trustmaker by the tymes.(y)🎶
I like to watch these old videos as well and here is one that I think better captures the period for me....especially with the start! ;)

One of my biggest regrets is not taking my Dad's Super8 with me when I spent the summer of 1982 touring North America with Genesis.
There was no luxury of digital images back then, so you used your camera only for the shots you knew you wanted and as I had to travel light, I didn't carry the Super8.

The film footage of Genesis alone would have been priceless now, but I can still replay in my mind's eye the many times I heard the rumble of a V8 from the tour bus and looked down to see a C3 pull along side. Oh to be able to print those memories.

While not Corvette related, here is a very period shot I took from the backstage area in Phoenix, it totally sums up 1982 for me.

One memory that remains with me is from approximately 1975/76. I was north bound on the M1 enroute to Santa Pod with 4 or 5 buddies in my first Yank, a 1965 poverty spec' ex-Belgian Galaxie 289 2v 4 door hardtop with 'three on the tree'. The only saving grace for this car was that on a 50 mph cruise it would pull more than 25 mpg.
Anyway, we were broken down on the hard shoulder following a stuck float needle or something needing a carb clean out (which was resolved). This was a Sunday morning and the M1 wasn't busy like it is nowadays. There were the odd yanks going past, presumably also going to the 'Pod. Anyway I was distracted by the road of a loud unfamiliar sounding engine also heading northbound.........by the time I had taken my head out from under the hood the unfamiliar sounding car was already past me and driving extremely fast........ it was non other than John Dodd in his Merlin powered car, the Beast. Now when say the word 'fast' this car was travelling as quick as anything I'd ever seen since and must have been way-up 150mph+ and diasappeared over the skyline very, very quickly. Perhaps even more impressive though was the 'gaggle' of 10 to 15 other 'fast' cars, like Vettes, the odd E Type and other American muscle (all relatively 'newish' at the time) that came past about 10 seconds or so afterwards and totally outclassed trying to keep up with the Merlin powered car................video is of its later re-creation - original car had RR grille and hatchback rear end.

What a car, I’ve never seen that before. Is it still around?
Watching that video has made me determined to get to a decent meet at the Pod this year. I‘ve never been to Dragstalgia but it is reported to be one the best events now.

John Dodd was an automatic transmission specialist 'back the day'. His application of a 'step down' transmission leading to the auto box resolved the issue of using an engine that peaks at 2500 rpm. Theres a fair bit on yotube if you search thoroughly. The early version of the car was badly damaged and the estate version was built. He took thr car over to Spain in the early 2000's.

CELESTIAL trans am is on ebay. I'd have that. Not sure about the interior though.
A relic from the late 70’s early 80’s custom scene. Saw it when it was done in the early 80’s. Totally OTT and impractical to use as a car. I’m afraid it’s totally useless today. Indeed it was pretty useless back in the day.
